As an artist with a migrant background, I've faced many challenges and barriers in entering the theatre industry. Working with an access support professional who understood the creative project I wanted to develop and appreciated my background and circumstances truly changed the game for me. Sînziana helped me craft my application and gave me the confidence to fully visualize my project's potential and scale. I’m sure I made the right decision by trusting her with my idea. My application was successful, and for the first time, I brought my work to life through an R&D!

Sînziana has been my support worker in applying for DYCP as well as NLPG. We first worked together when I was living in Scotland and she offered support in applying for a Creative Scotland Open Fund grant, which had been successful and led to many other creative avenues.

I would’ve never been able to submit an application on my own- the platform is incredibly overwhelming for me and I can’t express myself in writing under the required formats.

It’s been a great help to work with Sînziana as a support worker, her approach is motivating and inclusive & I felt like she ensured at every step that my voice is accurately represented. Sînziana is a highly skilled access support writer. She helped me successfully apply for a NLPG in 2023. I have dyslexia and struggle with spelling, sentence structure and organisation. Sînziana talked me through the process of applying methodically and in a way that I could understand. She approched my frustrations with my lack of accademic skills with patience and professionally, and I felt supported each step of the way.

I honestly couldn’t have done it without her. As someone who never thought they would receive funding because of their dyslexia and the hurdle of a written application, I’m very grateful that she’s working in this field. Sînziana's support to write my application was pivotal for the submission. She swiftly understood my needs and the needs of the project, and worked with much detail on each section as well as provided strategic advice. She was insightful, patient and motivating, asking me simple questions so that we could step by step got through the demonic Grantium writing. All my stress was alleviated by her flexible, supportive approach, and we managed to put in these applications that I would have never even attempted on my own.

I spent 6 years in London before I applied for ACE funding, during which time I saw the way Sînziana had worked with others and how she brought so many diverse subjects to life. Seeing her writing and directing, I realised she was the perfect person to articulate my ideas in the application, and I was right: we were successful. It is so rare to find someone with so many skills, who is so supportive, and I am incredibly grateful to her.
